1st time with my new Maverick

Doing an overnight low and slow with some butts and kids gave me new maverick for father's day early. I have followed directions to the letter and have question. the receiver does not display current meat or grid temp but the transmitter does. All the marketing literature and packaging shows the receiver on a countertop with the food and smoker temps displayed. Did I do something wrong or will they just show up when my high or low and food temps are hit?

The 7 or 73 will dispaly all the time.

ET 73. The transmitter is showing temps but the receiver is only displaying 3 dashes for food and smoker temps.

I had that happen before. It seems there is a time in which both must be switched on, about 30 seconds I think. If you wait to long they will not be synced. Try turning them both off, then back on within a few seconds of each other.

That did it! I thought I turned them both on within a minute of each other but apparently not. Now I can go to bed. Thank you guys and Happy Father's day to you.

Same thing happened to me. So I had to break down and read the instructions, damn I hate that.
Mine is starting to lose range to the receiver. Does anyone know if battery strench plays a part in this?

Yes. New batteries in my 73 increased the range to where it was when I first got it.
