In ther past I read on here or somewhere else that you have to remove a membrane from a slab of ribs. When I asked at the butcher shop today, they told me there ribs didn't have that and that I could just cook them as they are. Is there a picture of what this membrane looks like?

Found something on YouTube. Sorry for my stupidity.

Sound like you need a new butcher! Randy has some pics around.

Were they in a cry-o-vac or in a fresh case. A local meat shop here, removes the membrane for his customers "Ready to Cook".

It's possible they have removed it for you, but I doubt it.....I realize even the finest meatcutter may not be a good cook and there is even a slimmer chance that he or she is a barbecuist. It just cracks me up when they try to BS the customer.
Here are some bison ribs and pork belly ribs showing the membrane coming off.

Yeah, I really liked that butcher shop. There are others here. Watched a video on YouTube and got them out. I removed the membrane. They'll go on tomorrow morning early and I put up some pics. Thanks for all the help. I really enjoy coming on here.
