EVERY picture of any egg and any table is spotless!!! not a hint of "coal" dust any where, no little pieces of lump, no dark smudges, NOTHING!!! is is just because I FLY in and out of the cold, well freezing Maine winter air and do not spend that much time on making pretty after a cook or am I a slob or do you guys have a clean up crew come in and sanitize it for a "photo" shoot?? Maybe that is what Ricks Pretty Woman is really for?? she comes out after dark and all of his great cooks and cleans? (must use her feet, no arms!) or maybe the the little green bird, Jake comes in and cleans. but his feet and wing tips are always spotless. I am stumped.... sorry stumpbaby. :pinch: Julie with a messy egg deck

You're not alone Julie. I've ten years of stains and, heavens knows, chips and dust around the table. Did you ever see me post a picture? There are those anal Virgos and type "A" folk out here and then there's you and me. You should see Celtic Wolf when he works!!

Count me in the Club of Mess too!

I have no egg deck but maybe this'll help. It's the Mini I gave my BIL after I got my XL.
As you can see it's pretty crusty. Still cooks good though.

My Eggs sit in their nests, next to my garden patch. With the snow now melted away, they are surrounded by bits of dropped lump, mixed with last years dead leaves, and the occasional spil from a drip pan. Lookin' pretty rustic.
And the insides, not only do they need a cleaning burn, but the fire rings and pots are gled together by a baked on crust. Taking them apart, and getting the bits and pieces and ash from out of the shell will be great fun.
But by summer, I'll have them nicely buffed, new gaskets, maybe even a new grate or two. -
cleaned that one up before you took the picture?
-
Do you mean spotless like this?

HAAA . And here I thought it was dirty??? :silly:
-
No,It's just seasoned. :woohoo:

I tend to drool a lot when I cook... Does that count?

i will take a pic of my mess shortly but for now if you are concerned about it you may want to try this technique that i use to hid the dirt on the mini

For the few pix I have posted I have tried to carefully frame the subject so the clutter, mess, charcoal smudges, etc., do not show. No clean up, just close ups.

Like HH I do closeups or put newspaper or a towel on the pool table. I'll post a pic of the dirty wood before I put this on.

PHEW!!! do I feel better! it has gotten to the point that I look at the tables before I look at the food for goodness sake! :( I was beginning to think I needed to add a room for a Maid when we build the Egg hut this summer! Gosh a Maid...... more time to cook! :silly: LOl Julie
