Smoking woods?

Around here the only wood chunks and chips I've found in stores are hickory and mesquite. Seen the wood pellets of other wood and use them in a foil packet. Pecan and oak easily accessible around my neck of the woods. Where do you folks get these other woods? Would rather use chunks than pellets if possible. Thanks

    Over here, I have to settle for wood "chips" which are the size and thickness of a 25 cent piece. Therefore, they don't last long at all and unless they are soaked and layered amongest the charcoal, they don't last at all. I can get the hard wood and apple.

    I used wood from my orange tree today. I never thought to try it, but glad I did.
  • Check the grill dept. at your Home Depot., Lowes or Wal Mart.
