Did some really nice blackened Mahi-mahi on the Large last night, simple rub+butter and cast iron and wow what a meal. Also did some dry scallops on the mini, direct, hot and fast, Sorry no pics my camera is out of town with the wife and daughter.

Sounds good.Did you use a cast iron grid or did you use a pan?I'm doing some redfish tonight and was thinking of trying something new.
-
Redfish is great as well as orange ruffee (think that is how it is spelled).

Cast Iron Skillet I hit the fish with a good amount of rub and got a nice hot fire 475-500ish and put the skillet in the egg and let heat for about 4 or 5 minutes then I added butter and a small about if olive oil then the fish 3-5 mins a side (this is more of a feel for me not so much time) very easy and good.

Thanks alot,I have never used a skillet in the egg.I use the cast iron grid but sometimes have trouble with the fish coming apart.I'll try it your way if my wife will let me take her skillet.

Sounds like you need a Egg Skillet. I know the target in St Pete had them on sale a few weeks ago.

Maybe that will keep me out of the doghouse.

I may be eating my dinner for lunch. All this talk is making me hungry.

Sounds great....even better if you think that a while ago I asked my wife if her iron skillet fitted the egg...she said don´t think so.....guess what reading your post made me go & actually try the skillet & it just fits....so now I´m prepared to try my favourite Mahi-Mahi!!!! Thank-you

My wife is gonna be mad when she gets home from the store.I cut the handle off her skillet so it would fit into my small egg.I guess i'll be buying her a new one.
-
Bravo! Keep out of range, but wear a helmet, just in case! 8 - )

Heck the wife went to the store bought some metal cutting blades for the Rotozip. She brought in all her pans and said but em all off. Cuz you are doing the cookin from now on.
Got to love the woman.

HAHAHA::::We have a saying out in the Sierra....Better if my tombstone reads "Here he ran than here he died" so better start running and very fast...actually much cheaper buying a new IS than buying the large egg. Good luck.

She's not as mad as I thought.I do have some shopping to do though.

That's funny I did the same thing to a fajita pan that we got as a gift.
