This is what I see. Don't know why I don't see the picture. I tried all three views, classic, flat and thread. -
Thanks Willy, and good morning,
I put that picture out there, that is too large for the wide view, just to make sure I'm correct whenever I suggest to anyone to to re-size their pix down to 800 x 600.
By the way, if you change your view to non-wide, you'll see it. -
dyna,
what i have figured out so far is.
.
the forum resizes to 600x800 except it will be slightly bigger in wide view
jlockhart29 [and apparently others] cannot see pics at that resolution
resizing to 640x480 allows them to see the pics .
photobucket actually titles 640x480 the size for posting and somewhere in my frustration yesterday [i do not remember where] someting popped up on my screen saying that 600x800 on a forum would only be visible to those with a wide screen.
if you scroll down to "ping bll the espresso man" you can enjoy my pics of my other addiction and follow along with my picture post frustration. teh first three are at 600x800 the last 3 at 640x480
i resized in photobucket using the 'edit tab'
hope this helps .

How do I change to narrow view or wide view?
-
Man! Even more inconsistencies!
I scrolled down to the post you suggested, but your first 3 pictures show up (on my screen) as size=1024--not 800.
Whenever I see a picture that size, I can only see it when I switch to the standard view, but not in the wide view. It must be no bigger than 800 for me to see it in both views Are you saying that some can't see 800 x 600 in the standard view? I can. Very squirrelly! -
the forum displays 1024x768 and 800x600 images at 620x465 in all views except WIDE view. in wide view, 800x600 images are displayed as 800x600 and 1024x768 images are not displayed, but the link is shown.
what are the cons of using the non-wide view?? i'm petitioning for the forum to be displayed in wide view with no choice. -
I'd rather see them make only one largest size work in any view.
Some folks have gotten used to non-wide view. -
Again, how do I change wide view to narrow view or non-wide view or what ever view?
-
if you click on "club egg" your view will change to wide view (at least mine does). When you click on "home" and go back to the forum selection button, it comes up in narrow view.
-
Thanks!
-
Bill, would you mind verifying that your first three pix in that thread are in fact 1024 or 800 wide? They show as 1024 in the link.
-
i have to go make a living but will check from work . when i click properties on pics i never get 1024 always less. is this my computer? my stupidity ? or is properties teh wrong place to look for the size fo the pic. i will continue to down size my pics so all can see just trying to figure out how this works,
thanks
bill -
If you're checking the size of your photo by clicking on "properties" while in the forum, you're only seeing what size it's being displayed at there. Try re-sizing one to 800 x 600 in stead of 640 x 480 in photobucket and see if you can see it in all views.
-
you found it?
-
that image is 800x600, but the forum displays it in 620x465 and it looks like crap when not in wide view.
-
That's great. What software does that?
-
photoshop.
click print screen on the keyboard and the screen is copied to the clipboard. then create a new file in photoshop and past the image into it. then add test or arrows -
and if the forum would give me the 'edit' option, i could correct test to text! :pinch:
-
I see what you mean about the quality of 800 x 600 in narrow view. Does it do the same thing with a regular photo, or maybe it's just because it's a screen shot?
-
I don't know how long I have been in wide view but I can sure see a lot more pictures in narrow view. I went back to Bill's post below and could see all the pictures and I couldn't see any before. I could even see your picture in my post.
BTW nice looking street. -
the same for any image.
-
BUT, you see all 800x600 images displayed as 620x465 and they look like crap!
here's the solution... DO NOT POST 1024x768 images. ALWAYS use WIDE view. -
Therein lies the big problem with some folks not seeing all pix.
-
Amen
-
I agree, but most won't change to wide view since they've gotten used to narrow view. I much prefer Wide. It looks almost like the old forum.
-
that is exactly why i want them to change it to wide view period, with no choice.
it would take the mod about 2 minutes to post all these photo posting rules and we wouldn't have to go thru this every three days over and over and over.................
