Is it true that you should use Sand in the bottom of the chiminea?

    Surveyor,[p]I don't have a BGE chiminea, but I have another kind. I put sand in the bottom and 3 fire bricks... It worked for me...[p]HTH...[p]Thanks...

    Just use some round river rocks. Creates some air flow under the fire, and ash falls between the rocks.
