Woosday!!!
Hoss's BBQ
Posts: 435
Well I know that I am one of the newer posters to the forum yet I want to start this woosday. Celic Wolf Ealier in an early post of mine about seared steak asked about the sauce I prepared for the steak. In my ealrier post I did not mention the completed dish to ensure I had a woosday Post. Well here it is Celtic! Peppercorn crusted ribeye, with smoked baked potato, Smoke roasted corn and a Cognac ramp cream sauce. sorry for holding back just wanted to have a woosday pic, thanks Hoss

Car Wash Mike,
I lke the griddle/pan, and I wonder ...
If I owned one of those, how often would I "saute/fry" on the egg as opposed to my stovetop?
So I pass the question to you. :-)[p]#1 > I understand the pure fun of egging.
#2 > And I understand the food quality/taste improvements.
But in the case of crabcakes (or any "pan" cook less than an hour?), is there any reason other than "because it's fun and it's there" to use the egg?[p]Just curious,
Peter

Hoss's BBQ,[p]I made chicken legs for the first time on the nickel plated racks available at Lowe's. I love no longer having to flip the meat during cooking. Marinated in EVOO and Dale's, 1/2 were dusted in Shakin the Tree, 1/2 with Raging River. Slow cooked at about 275 for 90 minutes. Delicious.[p]Roudy[p]

stike,
Thanks, I think, lol. Reminds me of when I was a kid and I told my mom that something she made was almost as good as store-bought. She started talking to me again a few years ago.... [p]No, that was my photo.[p]TNW

thirdeye,
No brine, just washed, dried, evoo'd and some DP Shak'n The Tree on it. Placed it in a shallow pan with some chicken stock and cooked indirect for about 45 minutes or so to an internal of 170°. I used some hickory, not much, to raise the flavor a bit.[p]Here it is on the Egg...[p][p]I'll definitely do it again. I could have put some spaghetti noodles in the pan to make use of the juice. It might have been good. Then it would look like a turkey in a nest.[p]Spring "Turkey In The Straw" Chicken

Roudy,[p]Would those work on drummies for wings or would the wings be too small? [p]
Thanks.
-
Celtic Wolf,
OK. OK. OK.
I just had to ask.
Thanks (as always) for breaking my onions.
Or are you caramelizing (IN a pan ON the egg) them?
:-)
-
Suck Creek Wings,
if you leave the tip on the wings you can hook them under the center bar. i do it all the time and they turn out fabulous! doing whole wings works well i am not sure about just the drummies...............

omba,
I just like cooking them on the egg. Also, most times they are served as appetisers. Then I get the egg hotter for steaks.[p]Mike
-
Spring Chicken,
That is only the half of it. I had them again a couple days later. Should I call next time? LOL[p]Mike
