First time ABT success

Man o' man!!! I made 40 ABT's last night for a Christmas party and they were gone before some people even arrived. This was my first time making and/or eating them and man, what a treat. It was determined pretty quickly that these will be my signature appetizer :) for future Sunday school class gatherings. All the guys requested I make these for the men's camping trip in January... to compliment my Hog breath chili.
I ended up doing "boat" style... sprinkled some DP Swamp venom and grilled at 350 direct for about 40 minutes. Threw a handful of Mesquite chips and waited for the smoke to clear and then put them on...WOW!
Thanks to everyone that responded with ideas and methods... they were a huge success.

They're my favorite appetizer......and, the favorite of all my friends. I always serve these when I cook at my dealer's. Needless to say, they've sold quite a few BGE's.

  • wrobs,
That is a FANTASTIC report, wrobs! I am glad they turned out to be the hit of the party. There are lots more great dishes prepared on the egg too.[p]Try Pizza sometime... Banker John
