Here are some pics of a cast iron grate lifter we made, it works fairly well. I am in the middle of cooking a venison tenderloin so I couldn't place it directly over the center of the grate.[p]100_0320.jpg[p]100_0319.jpg[p]fishkiller

  • fishkiller,[p]Nice tool! But, where can I buy a cast iron grate like that? And how much are they?

Thank you, Thank You!...Now I can sleep at night. I've labored over this one for too long. May you make mega-millions! You've just provided the answer to a major problem....not to mention, world peace. You're the Man![p]Mike

I'm serious. The design is one suggested to me, but I just don't have the means to create it. I hope you can.[p]Best wishes.

I am not trading yours in for anything.
  • LawnRanger,
We tried several designs and the only way to balance the weight is to place the handle directly over the lifting could make a cantilever with an offset weight but that's overkill. If there is enough interest I could probably do them fairly reasonable, however, just 1 or 2 would not be time or cost effecient. Kinda goes with the, " If you're gonna build one table, might as well build four..." mentality.

  • David Thomas,
My father-in-law bought mine from the mothership during Eggtoberfest, I think it was @ $35.

  • fishkiller,
Can someone post an online retailer for them please?
