I don't own a BGE yet, and I am wondering if you are able to easily remove the lid. Thanks

James,
It removes fairly easily. However, be sure to keep the safety bands that come with The Egg if you have the spring assissted lid. You will want to put them back in place before removing the lid

jake42,
You can also just tie the handles together with a cable tie or something similar. The main thing is to not let the hinge open.

James,
You have had a couple "how to answers" but I have to ask - why do you want to remove the dome?

I'm with you. I took the message to mean "open the lid" and that is quite easy - especially with the new spring hinge.

RRP,
I've removed mine to replace the gasket, and to make the large lighter so I can get it out of the table by myself when I want to clean up the table.

Doug, I've done the same myself, but I was trying to see if there was a deep seated question such as maybe he planned to remove it altogether. Oh well...

James, I remove the springs from the hinge first. Then everything is easy to fix and helps in realignment.

RRP,[p]I have a 22" wok and was wondering if I could use it with the BGE. I was going to buy a separate outdoor wok burner but perhaps I don't need to.
