Ok, Saturday was the day for my Bleu Cheeseburgers :) Made up a shopping list and headed to the store. I don't know about you, but I buy all my 'cold' items last and then hit the check out. Got everything 'non-cold' and hit the meat counter. Veal Chops....$2.99 lb; 2-.45 lb Ground Round Patties for only $1.61!!; 5 brats......$1.50; 2 whole slabs Beef ribs @ $4 bux each!...Time to go ;) Got a 12 pak and a bag of Kettle Chips, $1.88, on the way out.[p]Got home and unpacked the groceries. Drats!!! In my eurphoria of finding all my treasures, I had forgotten to hit the Dairy aisle for the Bleu Cheese >:( Oh well, not going back now.[p]I cut the Vidalia and used the small ends to put into the burger. I then seasoned both sides liberally with Pensey's 4/S Salt. Put the burgers in the freezer for a while to set up. [p]Started the grill, straight lump, and put the Brats on at 350°. After the second turn I put the burgers on. Grilled for five minutes.[p]boiga1.jpg[p]As you can see, I worked quite a bit of the meat up and around the onion. Ok, I had forgotten the Bleu Cheese Crumbles, however I did have some Bleu Cheese Dressing that I poured into the indent on the burgers. Nope, not a perfect pour, but by now we'd been into the Captain Morgan and Peach Snapple ;)[p]boiga2.jpg[p]I let them cook for a few more minutes, letting the temp climb to 400°. I then added a slice of Cheddar to the burgers.[p]boiga3.jpg[p]The burgers were very, very tasty. Even Mrs. "I-don't-like-onions" told me that I could make them again :o
