Replacing gasket question

Hi all, I'm replacing my gasket and looking for tips for prepping the surface.

Easiest way to get the pieces left behind from the old gasket. Cleaning the surface. Etc.

    heres some cleaning tips. rrp doesnt install rutlands like this anymore but the cleaning method is probably still good. if you want to upgrade the gasket get ahold of rrp, he sells them at cost and will send updated install directions
