Man, that looks fantastic. What did you use for the rub?

Thanks @ColbyLang & @YukonRon. @bicktrav, it was spade L ranch beef seasoning and a lot of Montreal seasoning to create a tasty crust. These were good cuts. My family devoured them. The first steak never made it off the cutting board. The family normally loves tri tip, but I may have converted them ...

We started using a rub called "gun powder" you can find on amazon.
Does not give the build most coarse cut seasoning and rubs provide. It does add and enhance flavor. Should you ever try it, and not like it, let me know and I will buy the unused portion from you and cover the shipping.
I bought it for the first time a couple years ago at a butcher shop, payed like around $5.00 for about a 5 oz jar. Found the same on line this year for larger quantities, at much lower cost.
I use it on everything, pork, chicken, seafood, beef, vegetables, pasta, sauces, etc., and it works out very well. You do not need a lot, however if you do use too much, no harm.
Without a doubt, one of the best rubs/seasonings I have ever used.
Just sharing a discovery.
Again, great cook."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber

Actually if you scroll down....you will see "sure shot sids"....that is the one.
Try it, like I said I will buy the unused if you do not like it.
Worth it."Knowledge is Good" - Emil Faber
