Coopers in Llano - great road trip food

Stopped in about 1030 AM and the pits were doing their thing. Kind of cool, everything ready for a big Saturday, just waiting on the crowd.  We grabbed some jalapeño cheese sausage, brisket, turkey and pork dipped in sauce and wrapped in foil for car snacking.

The turkey and pork loin were outstanding and while it wasn’t that tender, the brisket had a really nice beefy flavor.  Jalapeño cheese sausage is always money.

Love that Coopers. Next time try the smoked ribeye.

I know it’s not the best bbq out there but I never miss a chance to stop at that coopers (or any of the others for that matter)

There’s two things the Mexicans don’t share in the break room:  goat and tamales.  

If you’re willing to pay, you can get a tamale.
