What the Sam Hill!?!?

Uncovered and opened up the Weber kettle and one side of the inner was covered with a fuzzy mossy fungussy looking stuff, even on a few of the briquettes. Vents were shut and lid was on correct. It’s been maybe 3 weeks since I used it. I’ve been grilling 55 or so years and have never seen this. The only thing different over the past year is I switched from Kingsford Pro to Stubbs. We also have had a lot of rain. Any ideas?

PS I’m not cleaning it. Going for a hot cook and then I will let it burn out. If you never hear from me again you will know that wasn’t the correct way to handle it.
