Got a BBQ Guru for my birthday... it has changed my BGE life!

It's just an amazing device. Been cooking a butt today and the temp is rock solid for the entire cook. I love it! Those of you with the Guru, does the adapter just stay in place when it's not being used. Will regular cooks be okay? Thanks

I assume you mean the piece that blocks the bottom vent that has the round collar that the blower sits in. Right? If so then no I always remove mine when thru with my Guru.

Thanks @RRP... that's what I was talking about. Only issue I had with my first cook with it was when the butt reached 170°, I opened the BGE and wrapped it. Temp spiked from 240° to 255° and never recovered back to 240°. Lesson learned I guess is to keep the dome closed while wrapping.
