Mad Max Turkey

We hosted our annual Friendsgiving this past weekend, and as always made a Mad Max turkey and the gravy to go with it. Always a hit! If you haven’t done this method before... what are you waiting for?

I plan on doing it this Thanksgiving. Did you egg it or oven? And if egg did you set the pan directly on the conveggtor or the grate?

This was done on the egg, but also did a breast only that was done in the oven. The setup is plate setter legs up, some aluminum foil balls to provide an air gap, and roasting pan on the balls. It wouldn’t all fit on the grate, large egg.

what size is the roasting pan you used? I bought a 15lb capacity one today and am hoping to use the setup you used and the one in mad max directions with the plate setter feet (with a V-rack). Did you have any problems w/ the bottom burning ?
