Corned Ham

As the title says I just found a corned ham DEEP in the freezer. I recall buying it a while back(3 years ago). It still sealed great. I had purchased it to make southern Maryland stuffed ham (if you have never heard of it please google it) but have never gotten to it.  So this weekend I'll be firing up all the stick burners at the firehouse for our annual gun bash. I am cooking 325 lbs of beef, 100 lbs of pork, and 100 lbs of pit ham.

So the question is has anyone ever smoked a corned ham?  If so how did it taste and how long did it take?  This is going just be a snack for the kitchen crew. So fire away and google stuffed ham.

I've never heard of corned ham.  From Googling it, all I find is brined fresh ham, just water and kosher salt in the brine, no curing salt.  Is that what you're talking about?

Yes I believe that is all that is done in the corning process. I have never smoke one but figured I'd clean out the freezer and give it a try. At this point I hope there is room on the smoker(s) to cook it.

Did any any of you look up Stuffed Ham? As a kid I always was like "no thank you", as I got older I realized I had been missing out.

Fascinating that "corned ham" is brined only with salt, when "corned beef" is pink because it's cured with salt AND curing salt.

I'll be very interested to see and read how this all turned out, what it was like.  Thanks for posting on this!  I look forward to more.
