Lid Band Safety Tabs

Browsing through the latest edition of BGE's "Lifestyle" magazine I noticed on pages 4 and 5, photos of all the BGE models. On every model there are two tabs on either side of the handle, running up from lid retaining ring and over the lip of the lid. These tabs are obviously deigned to keep the lid from separating from the rings and falling off of the egg. I'm wondering if  anyone on here has seen those tabs offered for sale as after-market items?

Looks like BGE "borrowed" Char-Woody's invention. Forum member from years gone buy came up with these. I think he made and sold them for a while, then gave it up. Not sure. I think @RRP knows the story.

I think you're talking about the new band assemblies. A bunch of folks seem to have made warranty claims about underbite or overbite, and have received the new band assemblies with those tab thingies.
