Frozen Butts

well I decided a little late to cook off two pork butts.  Problem was that I forget to get them out of the freezer.  So I pulled them about 8 pm and put them in a sink of water for a couple hours.  Softened the outside a bit to allow a rub to be placed.  The inside was rock solid still and wouldn't accept a probe.

Nice cook!  Next time toss them on frozen, just apply rub an hour or so into the cook.  It will still be great.

Yep, dad was released from the hospital yesterday afternoon, so heading over to his house.  He wanted pulled pork, so he gets pulled pork.  He isn't long for the world, so he gets what he asks for.

Sounds like my dad, but after each of the 3 knee replacements, Left, Right, then Left Revision, he requested Chili Dogs from the Varsity here in Atlanta.  Those nurses on the Ortho floor HATED me!!!!

And I'll cook frozen boston butts all the time because I forget to pull them from the deep freezer!  Just takes a little longer......

I've egged from frozen before but didn't get the same results as thawed.  But it was still really good.
