3 different calzones tonight.
Mama- BBQ chicken and bacon with sweet peppers and onions with fresh mozzarella
Me- Pepperoni, onion and banana peppers with fresh mozzarella, fresh garlic and Romano.
Kiddo- Pepperoni, meatball, bacon and mozzarella.
We cheated and used dough from Trader Joes.
Cooked them legs down, steel grate then pizza stone with calzones on parchment.
450 on the IR gun at the stone for 25 min. Flipped 20 min thru to let the tops crisp and even out with the bottoms for 5min
Came out awesome.

Legs down then grate? Did you use any spacers or a raised grid? Nice looking calzones!

I used my OEM stainless cooking grate as the spacer between the plate setter and pizza stone.
It it works ok, but I need to find a better option.BGE XL Woodlands, TX (Originally from Buffalo, NY but I got here as fast as I could) -
Technically those are Strombolis as calzone don't have the sauce in them, whereas a Stromboli does. Either way, outstanding cook!Slumming it in Aiken, SC.

Reading through the thread I was trying to remember the differences between calzones and Stromboli. Thanks for reminding me @Jeremiah They look good whatever you want to call them and now I know what I want to make this week. Or weekend.
