Its been so cold lately to even go outside to check the thermometer on the Egg when I'm not using the Maverick that I bought a monocular so I could just look out my kitchen window. Step two... working on a big ass set of long tongs.

    Have you taken the spring off the dome thermometer?  Do that so you can rotate it, it is super easy to check if you know it needs to be pointing to 12 o'clock.

    I've done that too. It's just from my kitchen to the Eggs it's too far for me to make out the temperature.

    Adapt and overcome. Yeah, I roll my table facing the right way towards my french doors, and I can lay on the couch, view the dome temp, and see my Thermoworks dot readout for the meat temp. I am also a spoiled Californian, nights have been in 40's, days in 60-70's, winters are brutal, I had to wear flip flops to take the trash out it was so cold. ;):peace:
