Spare ribs

I did spare ribs on Saturday. Did them on 250 for about 6 hours. No wrap. I was trying for a good bark. I pulled it off. Cut them up pour on some sauce I water down with Apple juice. Came out awesome. Sorry for no final pics.

Personally I prefer spares over baby backs hands down! Far more taste any way you cut it. Speaking of cutting though I would highly recommend you read about trimming the spares to St Louis style. You will find them easier to egg, as well as eat. As for the trimmed meat I save that and use it for delicious stir fry wok meals.

    Sounds like a win!

Did you cook on 3 levels? I just got my AR and grid extender, and probably have the setup that you do. Did you have to rotate the racks?

I often cook untrimmed spares when I'm feeling too lazy to trim them. If I trim them STL style with the tips separate, I can usually feed more mouths.

I have the woo also so I put the pizza stone and drip pan under it. It's the first time I've used both AR and woo at the same time. I need to get one more rack for the AR. No I didn't rotate. I was afraid it would mess up the rub.
