First Spatchcock Chicken

Wow wished I would have tried this sooner! Easy and really good. Put it on before we went to church. Egg dropped down to 275-had hoped for 350 indirect for around 90 minutes. Cranked it up when we got home and cooked until breast was 165. I think putting the beer in the drip pan and not compensating for that dropped our temp.

Do you guys prefer direct or indirect when doing a spatchcock chicken?

Great looking bird, @dihtn.I prefer sort of indirect, just using a drip pan between the chicken and the lump. Wprks good for me.,
