First Cooks on New LBGE

First cook on new LBGE was a few days ago..

Brined an end cut of a pork loin, seared it on my gas grill first and finished indirect at 350 degrees for 1 1/2 hours til internal temp hit 160. It was a HIT! I had done this before on a Weber kettle but the result on the Egg was far superior.

Thanks to some forum reads and YouTube watches I waited until the smoke was gone before I put the meat on. The loin was moist and tasted great.

Last night was a vertical roasted chicken, no beer can,  with a Raichlen all purpose rub. Cooked at indirect at 375 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours and the result was outstanding. Moist and tender. Hooked on BGE

  • Congrats, welcome to the forum.  Sounds like you're off to a great start.  One problem.  Pics or it didn't happen.  Most of us on this site love our food porn.
