Cider Vinegar same as Apple Cider Vinegar?

Making a homemade BBQ sauce and the recipe calls for either Cider Vinegar or Red Wine Vinegar.  Is Apple Cider vinegar and Cider Vinegar the same product?  Just curious - I have seen Apple Cider and have that at home but not just Cider Vinegar....
