Raised direct on XL?

Without a Woo how do y'all go raised direct at the felt line on the XL. The distance is different from top of fire ring than a large.

    Options
    I do all my raised direct with the adjustable rig which takes it several inches higher than the felt line.  However, you can just reduce the amount of charcoal you load and therefore increase the distance from the top of the coals to the cooking grid rather than raising the grid.  The XL has a very wide firebox which allows this to be an effective technique.
