Pardon my ignorance. I've searched. Would a large bge cast iron grid work with a spider in my xl or am I running a risk of damage? Medium cast iron? Thanks for any setup options.

I have an 18 inch cast iron for my XL and spyder. What is the diameter?

I was looking to get an 18" and spider. More room! I thought I read somewhere that it could crack. Or is that if you remove the fire ring and set it direct on top of the box?

What is the diameter of the large cast iron? I thought that is what I bought at 18 inches but can't remember. If 18 then fine.

It is 18. Thanks I.D.!
