CGS Drip Ring

I have the CGS A/R with oval stone, rib racks, and grid extender. The way I use the oval half inch high drip ring is to cover it with foil and lay it on the stone to catch drippings from the racks. I like to orient it such that the foiled side is up so the foil and drippings don't contact the stone and smoke but for butts it doesn't hold much drippings before it overflows. If you orient it foiled side down it will hold butts drippings but they would then be touching the stone and likely to smoke. Is there a better method? Otherwise, I'm not confused!

  • Put a liberal coating of salt in there. It will stop that burning.
