With all the advise from this forum & fellow eggers I have decided it was time to try my 1st brisket. Started at 4:30am & hoping to eat a late dinner. Pit At 265, I was to scared to get up to 280 like some suggested (probably next one at that temp). Didn't drop iPhone in pit yet (funniest story ever, look up lizzy's post). Went with basic rub, John Henry's pecan rub, I got for free so decided to use that one on 1st cook.
