Need help with my wife's Big Butt

The wife brought home an 18 pound butt this afternoon.  18 pounds!  Figuring 1.5 to 2 hours per pound, 27 to 36 hours to cook this thing?  What if I bump the temp to 300...350?   Haven't done an overnighter yet...looks like I will now.

+1 with title-hope she doesn't check this out or who knows if you will ever need to worry about the cook!

lol great title.  It might even been a boneless shoulder.  Costco has boneless butts that size so just a guess.

Yes likely two in one pack. You can probably tell your wife her butt isn't as big as it looks. :-O

My butcher couldn't get much over 13 lbs so I agee, two maybe in one pack. I normally cook 8-10 lb butts. I feel doing the larger ones don't get as much flavor.
