That's right no plate setter or drip pan. Going to throw on an hot Italian sausage with peppers and onion for good measure.

    I cut them off. The stalks get a little chewey

    That's the way I do asparagus, and a Ruger SP101 would be my carry if I were a wheel gun guy.

    Nice....another idea is a cream of asparagus soup. Simmer the stems in some chicken stock until really soft and then purée the asparagus and broth, add a few tablespoons of cream to give it some richness and season to taste with salt and pepper...good stuff.
