Dang that's no good!

Yikes! I had a similar issue. Luckily, I live here in Atlanta and the BGE Corporate office is nearby. They were very happy to help swap out the base. Of course no labor. I took the opportunity while I had the lid off to replace my gasket, went with the hight temp. No better time than when the lid has to come off.You will quickly become an expert in removing and re-installing the lid. It's a great feeling though, to have a new base and a fresh gasket.Feel free to write if you need any tips on replacing the gasket.XL and Mini Max. fish... the distributor is Tarentin Tank. i emailed them directly, because the Stive Shoppe no longer sells BGEs. They took care of it pronto.

I've got a 9 yr old large that cracked in 3 directions starting at the bottom recently that is being replaced. Just like yours it never moved from it's original location the entire time. And that one still has the factory gasket and was rarely over 600 degrees since I do my hi temp cooks on my medium.
