Wondering if anyone has used the IGrill - probe connects via Bluetooth to your IPad or IPhone. Got one for my birthday and it seemed good on the surface - alarms to your device, great graphics, algorithm that would determine how long to get to current temp and forecast time to target, solid probe and sheathed cable, dual probes. However, Bluetooth would drop in the middle of cook and wouldn't restablish, impossible to read display at probe end in sunlight and you need to replace AA batteries after each cook. Future generations might be good, but right now a lot of money for little practicality. maverick better at half the cost.

Bluetooth is only good for 30 feet without obstruction, walls reduce the distance a great deal.  The Maverick wireless probe is good for at least 200' plus through one house wall.  It doesn't give as much info but it works.

  • +1 for the Maverick. Mine works great.

Be careful, man! I've got a beverage here.
