I have a new Brunswick stew recipe that calls for brisket. I have never smoked a brisket. Any special tips would be appreciated. Plus is there a cut of brisket best suited for cooking on BGE?
thank you for reading and your reply.

The brisket is a flat and a point. Try to get one with both the flat has less fat and is less forgiving. Read this: http://bubbatim.com/Bubba_s_Brisket.php

Bubba Tim's site is great. I also found Thrid Eye's site to be helpful for Brisket."Pork so tender you can pull it with a spoon." ~Spoon

Ii am in aiken sc. I go to bruckners in augusta to get my packers. My understanding is a packer cut is the flat and the point

Having worked for a meat company in the past, I know some of the (5 star) restaurants to whom they sell and the quality of animals they buy. Therefore, I generally buy my brisket at Sam's Club (Excel brand). One of best perks was being able to buy meat at a huge discount. I once was able to buy 80# of 92% ground beef at 15cents/lb. Unfortunately, I no longer work there. After working for them for more than a year, I got tired of the [weekly] commute because I couldn't sell my house.

Is excel meat good? The walmart by my house carries excel packers for $2.38 a pound but I have always been scared to try one.One of best perks was being able to buy meat at a huge discount.
