The More Things Change, The More They DON'T Stay The Same

Like most of you, I enjoy coming here each morning to see pictures of cooks from the previous day.  The old forum clearly showed which posts had pictures attached. Yes, I looked at a lot of posts without pictures particularly the ones where new folks were asking questions.  But the posts with pictures were my favorite ones.  It's apparent that this new forum will not indicate which posts have pictures attached unless I am missing something.  That a real shame because in the interest of time, I cannot go through each and every post looking for my food porn!  So, I guess the only way to make this work is that we need to indicate in our subject if we have included pictures with our posts.

    There has been some talk of fees of some sort to keep the old site, NOT hosted  BGE, working

    I have a 23 inch monitor, this forums header information takes up about 70% of that screen, I can't see but ONE post topic on my screen without scrolling...I don't NEED that information. I'm ALREADY SOLD on BGE. I open the old forum, look at the post names, go typically (not always) to only those with pictures attached (just my preference) and move on... I like the posting stats, the ease of use, the dozens of topics I can see listed on my home screen, my signature block (which DOES allow us to share our sites among each other which is important to some), etc... My two cents. I have to ask do I want or need a corporate site or do I just want to talk to fellow hobbyists about my grilling and recipes? What will happen next will be advertising links on this page, moderating (good or bad) and I think we already lost the 'homeiness" feel in the delivery alone. My two cents, but personally I'll probalby monitor both this and the old, but I prefer to use the old... Keep On Eggin
