Exactly how high should you be filling the egg with the charcoal? Is it the same if I am doing indirect like pulled pork or direct for steaks?

Is it better to light it in multiple spots or just one? Or does it matter?

    For a longer low and slow I will go half way up the fire ring otherwise I just load to the top of the firebox. I light in three places on the XL regardles of the cook and two places on the small and mini.
