Just got a request from my wife to cook a whole ham on the egg for easter. Searched the forum for info and found nothing. Any recommendations ???

I did one yesterday, 23 lbs on a large egg for 6 hrs. I'm a newbie, got my egg from a friend who was moving and couldn't take it with him. Don't have a book, only the small brochure and about 5 times of using it so far.
We enjoyed the results quite a bit, will definitely do it again. Just the lump charcoal at first, then some wood chips for smoking at the halfway point and a version of a maple bourbon glaze for the last hour and half.
If this is what the Egg can do with no experience and no guidance.....watch out world!
Have some photos, don't know how to post them yet. -
Check out Alton Brown's "Country Ham" recipe, it worked out very well for me a while back and planning on using it again on Sunday. It is on the Food Network website.

check out egret's ham in the recipe's section.

I used this recipe for Easter last year, and plan to do the same on Sunday. It was truly delicious.
