Thanks Tim (2fateggheads) for all of the bacon tips. Will be doing again after we eat the 18 lbs we froze ;) . We did half in hickory and half in apple. Both are great!!!!

Glad to hear Richard. I think we have the same foodsaver V3485.

    The bacon looks good.

How was the texture of the fried bacon?

Do you think the bacon makes a lot of bacon grease?

    Talk about making gravy. :P

    How was the salty ness?

Glad to hear it all came out great. Tim :)

    Tim,
The food saver is a 3840 from Kohl's. It got one heck of a work out this weekend. Went through 3 boxes of rolls :(. The bacon fried was excellent. The 5 day cure was the best texture. Neither one was tough or chewy. The hickory seemed to have a bit more salty flavor. I was surprised at the amount of grease it "didn't" make. We had a lot of fun and Mom's boyfriend got into it so much that we are picking up his new medium egg this morning .
