#1 & Only Son to turn 18 on Sunday -- He will be home alone and returning to school while Ku & I will be returning from Salado :silly:

Found a 5+ # Frenched pork loin at Sam's a while back and saved it -- a favorite of growing young man's ;)

LBGE went very hot at 400 and gave me a new "do" for Saladao :S , but wrestled it back to 375 and cooked to tasty goodness

Brined in 2/3 c Kosher salt, 1 c fine sugar, ground bay leaves, ground sage, and a bit of dried mint from last year's harvest -- all in 10 cups water for 4 hours; rested 2 with Raging River on underside. Sure was nice to have a bit of bone, but not that impossible to cut through chine bone

Cooked over drip pan on lower AR (used MBGE grid) for 45 minutes, flipping from fat down to up at 30 min.....temp ranged from 117 - 145 at 45 minutes, so added some water to the pan for about 5 minutes, then went direct on lower level for 10.

Served with baby bella gravy, mixed rice (wild, brown, and jasmine) pilaf, and asparagus tips.

Happy 18th Birthday, Tall One B)
