  • My helper!

Well, today didn't go as I had planned.

I was going to cook some ribs and tenderloin for us and the neighbors for dinner. Well, that didn't happen. We went out to run a few erands this morning and made it all the way across Atlanta to the mothership. Swmbo gave me the green light to add to the family. I am now the proud owner of another new mini. This now makes my egg family a large and two minis. For those of you who don't have one, trust me it gets more of a workout then you would imagine as it heats up fast and is great for weeknights cooks. Having two just makes it versatile. Like steaks on one and potatoes or some other side on the other.

Well, the team at the mothership is awesome! Not only are they helpful and incredibly friendly they will also feed you, which was delicious. They are so nice my usual helper and taste tester walked out with hiw own egg.

While I was sad I didn't get to cook today, and with the thunder storms we had push through it would have been a wet cook, I am happy with the days outcome.

  • Re: cook suggestions welcomed

I ended testing it in multiple location and most places read 165 or more so i puller it. it was awesome. i would post a picture but the vultures swarmed and destroyed it quickly, it was really good.
  • Re: Whole Chicken on the Mini

I flipped the clasp and use it on the outside. The thermometer still sticks into the egg past the reading line on the thermometer.

But I do like the cork idea, just not sure it will last as long in the elements.
  • Adding to the family! Please help on setup.

I just scored a Mini from CL that has never used and is still in bubble wrap for $200. Which seems like great deal to me as I have been looking to add a mini and a small to my collection as I currently only have large.

So my question to the Egg community is how should I set it up? should I just call the CGS team and get the mini woo and stones from amazon or just go get a plate setter? or, what is everyone's suggestion/opinion?

I am open to all options and have to admit I am excited for the first cook.

I have tried to search the site but it doesn't work very so if this has been discussed previously can someone paste a link and I will apologize.

    Thank you
