My mom would bring home left overs or purchase a doggie bag to bring home and ask "Do you think you can make it" Plus i like trying to guess the spices. I find restaurants today don use good spices or herbs, it salt or butter an if they use spice its steak spice or greek spice. for me i us oils and acids, mixed in with herbs.
