  • Re: How many do you cook for?

    Just the wife and me as well and we're not heavy eaters so I'll do 1-2  6lb chickens that last 2-3 days...did some great chicken legs this past weekend..going to do a small 6lbs butt this weekend. Steaks of course, pork chops, etc...but every now and then I like to invite others over and do a larger cook for everyone.  Typically I'll cook on the weekends for the next week's worth of dinners...we both don't get home from work till around 8pm so we just want something quick during the week
  • Finished project with rewards

    Spent a few hours every evening last week sanding, staining and putting on a few coats of polyurethane to my table. Found a beautiful piece of polished granite at local shop and they gladly donated to the cause!!  Starting off with chicken legs for dinner tomorrow and HUGE filet mignons for me and the Mrs. tonight.  Had some trouble getting the temps up but I pulled the PS and did a quick sear on the chicken and it seemed to be burning great.  Going to crank it up to 550-600 for the steaks later tonight.
  • Re: Solo weekend!!

    LOL...I'm solo myself for the next 3 days..and I just finished a 5 day sand/stain/poly on my LBGE table last night.  Got a beautiful piece of granite for a hot plate donated to me by local tile store yesterday and after work tonight I will be spending the evening putting the Egg back in the table and putting everything back together.  Thinking some nice filets tomorrow night and then have some chickens smoked up for Sunday night when SWMBO comes back...gotta run to the butcher shop!!
