  • Re: BGE Dealer in the NE Dallas TX Area

1+ on Natural Selections in Carrollton.  I bought my egg from them and they will be as cheap or cheaper than anyone in the metroplex.  But they are a stone, tile, and fixture store for kitchen and baths.  They may not have an XL in stock, so if you want one, call them and arrange for it ahead.  They aren't a grill storefront, but you won't beat their pricing.  They will get you any accessory you want, but may need a day to get it  Ask for Suzy...

  • Re: Am I making this L BGE table project too difficult?

That is a nice looking table.  I broke down and bought a large nest so I didn't rush the table.  Thanks for the report, because while I think 4x4 posts is overkill on the ends, I to have considered the sag that the stretchers could have if not supported enough.  Thanks again for contributing!
  • Re: Had to happen sooner or later

Nice day here in Texas, got some stuffed jalapeños and pineapple rings on the egg. But dang, forth cook and still struggling with brining up temp and stopping it. This time, I pretty much closed it off at 375 and two minutes later it was falling to below 200. I had to open the dome again and it took time to get back to 300 again! Finally stable at 375 for 21 minutes into the 35-40 minute cook. But opened to add the pineapple. It is still around 300 after opening 7 minutes later. Not too stable...I have no idea how I managed the temps on the brisket cook.
  • Re: found Royal oak

KennyLee, do you happen to have a pic or two of your cedar table with the granite top?  Where did you get the top done?

And to any of you, lots of talk about charcoal.  Any good deals on fruitwood chips or other chips for smoke?
