  • Re: Strip on edge (pics)

Going by feel really isn't as difficult as one would think.
I should start paying attention to feel so I can cook when technology fails.
  • Re: New Accesssory - Turbo Stream

Seems pretty thin. I wonder how it'll hold up. If it turns out to be the next best thing since sliced bread, I'm sure the forum will be posting nonstop about it like the rest of the got to have gadgets. I'll wait for the die hard EggHeads to give thier reviews.
  • Re: Smokeware's new black face thermometer - a WINNER!

Who actually reads the thermo? I just rotate the dial so the temp I desire is in the 12 o'clock position and at a glance I can see if the needle is vertical (desired temp) or high or low.

That said, I have always preferred black dial faces. Most of my watches have black dials.
I've tried this method because it would be easier to read from the house, but having the dial twisted drives me absolutely crazy. I just got used to where the dial should be at. Not as easy as your method, but it keeps me from going insane.
  • Re: Gator tail prepped and ready for smoking.

What the hell....are you some kind of salesman. I fell for the bait and switch on this thread. Regardless, tailgate ribs sound great.
  • Re: Which Thermometer?

It depends. For long cooks the thermometers usually equal out. Most people will use dome temps when sharing cooks on the forum unless specified using Grate temp.
