    I never cook anything that smells bad, worked in restaurants for years and dont take the chance.  Rather be safe than sorry.  Just my opinion

    I broke 2 when I did a retighten on all bolts.  Called a clinch pin, got 2 free from my BGE dealer, couldnt find them at menards. 

    DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THEM.  There is a very small head on the bolt that breaks easily.  

    IMO, Only bolts that need to be retightened are the band bolts til they bend a bit

    Welcome aboard, I got a large for fathers day and still not finished with my 1st bag of BGE lump.  Just picked up some Royal oak from Menards.

    Im learning as I go and everyday I find cooking like this is a way of life
