My motto has always been - buy it right, buy it once. There are many like it, but none that stack up to the quality and ability of a Yeti. The best around indeed. Much like our BGE. Many subsitutes, but none that match it.

I have an XL, and for small cooks I simply stack the lump in the middle in a pyramid shape. Never found a need to purchase the ring.

Buy direct from the store if you can guys.. From what ive been told, the store does not get any benefit if you purchase site to store. I think it has to do with some being individually owned.

I'm used to low and slow as well, but yesterday I went 300 temp at grate, with three racks high in the dome. Pulled them after 3 hours, and they were just the way I like them.

Well, to my surprise the fire in the ash bin worked. Got the lid open with no damage to the gasket. Loaded her up with Ozark Oak, and she's off. Thanks again guys for all the tips. Next time I'll be sure and put spacers in between prior to an ice st…

I've got the plate setter in place.. so the dumping of coals may be problematic. I may try lighting some lump in the ash bin.

I'm a dump and go kind of guy as well. Long cooks, short cooks, it don't matter. Dump, light, cook. BAM!
