  • Used maple wood for smoke. Didn't go traditional with stuffing and cranberry sauce. Made a pot of baked beans, slaw & BBQ pasta salad. Can't wait for the leftovers today.
  • Thanks for all the advice everyone. Throwing it on tomorrow. Can't wait.
  • Thanks for all info. Really looking forward to trying this some weekend. So many things you can do with the egg!
  • My vent sticks like that too. I was kind of hoping that it would slide smoother once I broke it it. Glad to know I am not the only one.
  • Got an email back from the mother ship advising me that for best results I should apply high temp silicone to the top and bottom of the door. Thanks everyone for all the help and advice.
  • I would check with the mother ship to see what type sealant they use. I don't think silicone would take the heat. Good idea. I will email them today.
  • Make sure it can take the heat.  Install the draft door then silicone the edges.  I would tape it off with painters tape myself to ensure you get a nice clean bead! Thanks!
  • Thanks. That must be what it is. I will have to put a bead around the door before I install it.
  • They are....New Belgium is opening an east coast brewery and huge distribution center in Asheville, NC. That would be awesome. Can't wait

  • I really like Fat Tire. Bummed I can't get it in NY
  • The previous owner should be turned in to the proper authorities and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Glad you were there to restore order in your part of the world. Yeah it looks kind of sad now and my wife was not too happy when I…
  • Never mind I think I found my problem. I was not hitting the "< >" icon at the end of the toolbar.
  • Thanks for all the feedback. I was unsure if there would be any benefits doing top vs bottom or doing both of them.
  • I am ordering a new dome from HQ. I will take some photos and post them on here because I want to document the before and after. I was just lucky when I stumbled across the CL ad because it was only 4 hours old and the guy was only 2 miles from my…
  • Just picked up a large locally on CL for $50.00. Dome is cracked and needs a draft door but it was set in a wooden table with wheels so I figure with a little work I should have a sweet set up. Can't wait to be able to cook with it!
  • This is kind of ironic. I just joined this site because I have just purchased my first BGE (large) from someone locally on Craigslist for $50.00. The egg came set in a wooden wheeled table. The dome is cracked and the lower vent door is missing b…
