Contacted bge... After talking with them I learned two things.
1. They now carry a adhesive back grey nome gasket.
2. Moving the bottom band up to the edge.. Right below gasket.. Fixed my lid issue

Its official. Im going to put a Rutland gasket on the egg. Im hoping i can go to Lowes or Ace Hardware to buy it..or even Stones. I fried my nomex gasket last night...also when im putting on the new gasket ill be rotating the lid to see if i can g…
My felt melted during a high temp cook.... Contacted eggware and they sent me the nomex gasket for the lid.. Honestly I don't think it needs a gasket foe the top. Once it's shut down.. Its shut sown
I do not pass the dollar test.. Not even close. So that's why i have been looking into options. Maybe I can loosen the band just a little to give less resistance or something.
What they said. When i had to do a pizza cook i simply took off the top lid. Got the egg up to around 600 degrees, then when it came time to shut er' down..i simply but the cap on and "closed" the vent.
OK.. So I ended up buying two pork shoulders from the fresh market. One 11 pounder and one 9 pounder both boneless. Had really good luck with the last 12lb I bought from there last time. Excited to cook them up tomorrow. :-)
